Part of the Diary of an Accidental Witch Series

Unexpected Visitors

Paperback

Grades 1–4
Ages 6–9

The sixth graders at Extraordinary are excited to learn that there will be some VERY IMPORTANT visitors coming to the school, and they need to prepare. Will everyone be ready?

Bea and the other sixth graders at Extraordinary learn that there will be some VERY IMPORTANT visitors coming to the school soon! It’s all hands on deck as the teachers and students prepare the school for their guests. They have to clean, decorate, and prepare the classrooms and hallways with the very best examples of the students’ work. Will they be ready in time? With black-and-white illustrations throughout.

Told through Bea’s diary entries, the Diary of an Accidental Witch series invites readers to follow Bea on a humorous journey of self-discovery as she learns where she truly belongs.

Gr 3-5–This fun series follows Bea Black, who moves with her dad to the town of Little Spellshire. Bea’s dad accidentally enrolls her in a witch school, even though she is very much not a witch. In this seventh adventure, Bea and her classmates must prepare the school for some very special visitors. Despite everyone’s best efforts, things go hilariously and chaotically wrong. Bea writes in journal entries throughout the day with illustrations and school updates are included throughout. This makes for a fun reading experience for older, more confident readers who will notice the realistic misspellings and handwritten sections. VERDICT Recommended where the other books in the series do well, or where witch stories are in demand.—School Library Journal
